Merrymeeting Mitts

  1. I love mitts - these look cute and simple. Did you use an entire skein of yarn?
I have a sketchbook full of designs I wanna try to knit, but I've never really knitted anything without following a pattern except socks. Did you teach yourself how to write patterns? Or is there a website/book/... that you can recommend for getting started on 'designing' patterns?

    1. less than one skein, but not enough to make two pair, unfortunately!

i actually just started writing down some of the stuff i was knitting. when i started to knit, i didn't follow patterns for the most part, and so as my skill set grew i just wrote down what i was doing. i'm sure you can find resources for writing patterns online, i just haven't ever thought to.

as a result, my patterns are not as professionally done as many others, but i'm okay with that!

  3. Ah, I think making these is how I first found your blog! I have one mitt done and one to redo. Maybe I can finish those off, one year later.
